Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the ministry of human resource development, Govt. of India,. pace setter's  in education, maintains excellent standard's of education with appropriate teacher- pupil ratio, common syllabus & bilingual medium of instruction . Kendriya Vidyalaya, NAD Aluva is one of the over Nine Hundred plus Kendriya Vidyalayas  and abroad, mainly catering to the educational needs of Indian Navy, CISF and other Central Government establishments in and around NAD Aluva.

Mission of Kendriya Vidyalayas

The Kendriya Vidyalayas have a four fold mission, viz.,

1. To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable central government employees including defense and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education.;
2. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education;
3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like the central board of secondary education (CBSE) and the national council of educational research and training (NCERT) etc. and
4. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of Indianness among children.

Genesis:

Kendriya Vidyalaya NAD Aluva started functioning in the year 1984 with one division till Vth Standard in the recreation room of NAD Aluva. Initially the school had a strength of about 300 students and 12 member of staff.

       The school functioned in make-shift rooms provided by the sponsoring agency till 1996. The school shifted to its own campus in july 1996 and it was officially inaugurated by Smt. Lizzie Jacob, IAS, then Commissioner of KVS on 7th February1997.

     Ever since its inception in 1984, the school has recorded steady growth in the field of academics, sports and Co-curricular activities.

Important Evolutionary Milestones:

1984- The Vidyalaya started functioning in the make shift rooms provided by the sponsoring agency.

1993- Foundation stone of the new building laid by Vice Admiral S.K. Chand, PVSM, AVSM, FOC-in-C, Southern Naval  Command, Cochin.

1996 - The Vidyalaya was shifted to the new building and its own campus.

1997 - The new building was officially inaugurated by Smt. Lizzie Jacob, IAS, Commissioner of KVS.

Gradual Year wise Expansion:

1984 - The Vidyalaya started functioning in the make shift rooms provided by the sponsoring agency till Vth standard with one division.

1989 - The Second Division for Ist Standard was sanctioned and started functioning.

1990 - The first batch of AISSE(Class X) appeared for Board Exam.

1996 - The Vidyalaya was shifted to the new building and its own campus.

1996 - Class XI Science Stream started.

1997 - The new building was officially inaugurated by Smt. Lizzie Jacob, IAS, Commissioner of KVS.

1998 - The first batch of AISSCE(Class XII-Science Stream) appeared for Board Exam.

2005 - Class XI Commerce Stream started.

2005 - The Third Division for Ist Standard was sanctioned and started functioning.

2007 - The first batch of AISSCE(Class XII-Commerce Stream) appeared for Board Exam.

The Vidyalaya Campus: Quiet, green and tranquil. Away from madding crowd, the Vidyalaya campus has ample space of recreation, rest and fresh air. An ideal place for purposeful academic learning and mental and physical growth.

State-of-the-art classrooms Class rooms are redesigned to the demands of the changing paradigms and innovations in educational practices and precepts.

Computer Labs Multimedia systems with internet connectivity that are configured to the changing needs of the times provide the children with hands-on-exposure to the revolutionary developments in information technology.
